I have learnt to be creative with oatmeal for breakfast and thus come up with various recipes out of my creativity using the ingredients at hand. With this banana oatmeal bowl as is including the toppings, I can recreate it to my Apple pie Oatmeal Bowl. All you need is be creative with oats and enjoy them is using what you have on hand or what you love. In short, make oats taste the way you want with what you have on hand. The reason I say this is because oats on their own are very bland in taste yet very nutritious for our bodies. Serves 2
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups water
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 tbsp cashew butter (optional)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1-2 tbsp maple syrup (or honey)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Toppings:
- Sliced apples
- Raspberries
- Chia seeds
- Desiccated coconut
- Flax seeds
- Cashews
Instructions:
- Add all your ingredients into a small saucepan and cook over medium heat while stirring frequently to avoid the oats from sticking to the bottom of the saucepan.
- Let cook for about 5-7 minutes till thick & creamy.
- Remove from heat and serve with your toppings of choice.
