This is the easiest and most delicious honey soy fried pork you’ll ever make. With just 6 ingredients and you are good to go.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Let’s talk about the ingredients needed to make this easy and delicious honey soy pork:
- Pork: I prefer using pork shoulder but you can use pork butt as well. You can opt for boneless as well or with bone.
- Honey: This helps with sweetness. Once cooked, it forms a wonderful sweet coating on the pork cubes.
- Soy sauce: I prefer using dark soy sauce but you can use the light soy sauce or tamari if you prefer gluten free sauces. However, light soy sauce has slightly less soy flavour and will not have the same bronze colour effect on the pork.
- Cooking oil: Always go for what you regularly use or what you prefer be it vegetable oil, olive oil, coconut oil or even ghee.
- Onions: This work magic and flavors the pork. You can use either red or white and as much as you would prefer.
- Sea salt & black pepper: You might not need salt at all since the soy sauce had sodium. Use according to your palette.
PREPARATION AND COOKING:
- Start by heating some oil in a pan then sear the pork cubes till golden brown. Make sure to use a wide pan to ensure they are well seared then cook till almost done.
- Add the honey, soy sauce and onions then allow the onions to cook till soft.
- Finally garnish with some cilantro (dania) leaves and enjoy!
