Strawberry Smoothie

This strawberry smoothie is one of the quickest breakfast option ever. It is healthy and can be served in various ways: with some pastry on the side or some granola or muesli.

It’s so easy to get it ready as just three ingredients are needed.

Strawberries which are indeed the star of the smoothie. They are high in antioxidants, lots of vitamins and are known to be fat free, cholesterol free and low in calories.

Natural Yoghurt which can also be substituted with Greek style yoghurt for a creamier texture. It is high in proteins which we all need at every meal.  The lactic bacteria found in yoghurt helps in various ways such as lowering body fat, balancing the stomach acidity, bosting the immune system among other benefits.

Honey or maple syrup to sweeten things a little.

I particularly used fresh strawberries but frozen would work as well.

Once blended, you can serve it with any pastry on the side or even granola or muesli.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 ml (2 cups) Natural yoghurt
  • 100 g (1 cup) strawberries
  • 3 tbsp honey or maple syrup

Method
 

  1. Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.

Notes

You can use Greek style yoghurt for a creamier consistency.
Either fresh or frozen strawberries can be used.
The drink can be served with some bread or cinnamon rolls or croissants , muffins or any other pastry one has on hand. Another way of serving it would be with some granola or muesli.
