Sautéed Cabbage
Main Dishes

Sautéed Cabbage

March 23, 2020

Some ingredients/meals need to be revamped to be enjoyed. Cabbage can be bland when over cooked or not cooked correctly yet it’s a great source of vitamin C & K. This simple way of sauteing cabbage only needs three main ingredients besides the oil/butter for cooking and salt and pepper for seasoning.

Preparation and cooking

Begin by shredding your cabbage, carrots and onions ready for cooking.

In a large cooking pot/ sufuria, heat the butter/ghee/coconut oil/vegetable oil.

Once heated up, add in the onions and cook till translucent.

Add in your crumbled beef cubes if using and cook for a minute

Follow by adding in the shredded cabbage and grated carrots. Stir well to cook for about 3-5 minutes.

Keep a close eye not to burn or over cook. They should be crunchy.

Season with salt and pepper as desired then finish by adding in coriander/parsley/chives if using them. Serve hot as a side dish with sweet bean mash or whole wheat chapatis.
