Fresh Avocado Tomato Salsa

A quick, fresh, and healthy Avocado Tomato Salsa made with ripe avocados, juicy tomatoes, red onions, lemon juice, and fresh cilantro. Perfect as a dip, toast topping, or side for grilled dishes like nyama choma or a side with some pilau.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 ripe avocado, diced
  • 1 ½ tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 ripe tomatoes, diced
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Soak chopped onion in cold water with ½ tsp of salt for 5–10 minutes. Drain, rinse, and pat dry.
  2. Combine onion, tomatoes, and avocado in a bowl.
  3. Add cilantro and lemon juice.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Toss gently to combine.
  6. Serve fresh.
