Smooth & Delicious Guacamole Dip

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 4
Course: Dips & Sauces
Cuisine: Kenyan, Mexican

Ingredients

  • 1 red onion, finely minced
  • 1 ½ ripe avocados
  • 1 ½ tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 ripe tomatoes, deseeded & diced
  • ¼ cup cilantro/coriander (dania) leaves, chopped
  • Sea salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper or fresh chilli, (optional)

Method

  1. Start by dicing up your onion then soak in warm water for about 5 minutes. This helps in reducing the onion tanginess then drain off the water.
  2. Cut the avocados in half, lengthwise and remove the pit. Scoop out the flesh and add to a bowl.
  3. Add in the lemon juice then use a fork to mash until creamy.
  4. Add in the diced tomato, cilantro/coriander (dania), drained onions, sea salt, black pepper and cayenne or chilli (if using)
  5. Mix everything together and adjust the seasoning to your liking then serve as a dip or side.
  6. Alternatively add all the ingredients into a blender or food processor and pulse like 2-3 times. Season to your liking then serve.
  7. You can chill it in the fridge for about 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

It can be refrigerated for a day.
